Kaboom Percussion Incursion
Students from Kindergarten to Year 8 enjoyed a high‑energy performance today from Kaboom Percussion. Quinn and Grace showcased a range of custom‑built instruments, including tuned pigs, 3D‑printed drums, bucket percussion, boomwhackers, and cajóns.
The show blended music with simple explanations of how sound is produced, helping students understand concepts such as sound vibration and pitch in an accessible, engaging way. There was also a strong focus on creativity and sustainability, demonstrating how everyday and recycled materials can be transformed into musical instruments.
Students were actively involved throughout the performance, especially during the body‑percussion segments where they created rhythms together. The interactive format kept them engaged while reinforcing both musical and scientific ideas.
Overall, the performance offered a practical, entertaining introduction to percussion, sound, and creative music‑making.
