Year 10 Students Dive into Money Management

Today, Thursday 6 November, our Year 10 Commerce and PDHPE students took part in the Money Confidence Workshop, a dynamic and hands-on session designed to equip them with essential financial literacy skills for life beyond school.

Delivered by Moneyvest Pty Ltd, the workshop focused on real-world money concepts and decision-making, helping students build a strong foundation in personal finance. Through interactive activities and practical examples, students explored key topics such as:

  • Setting up bank accounts and understanding savings and interest
  • Reading payslips and understanding income
  • Superannuation and investment options
  • Taxation, MyGov, and Tax File Numbers (TFNs)
  • Budgeting and money management strategies
  • Identifying their unique “money personality”
  • Making confident financial decisions

The session was engaging and empowering, giving students the tools to take control of their financial futures with clarity and confidence. It was fantastic to see them asking thoughtful questions and actively participating in discussions that will benefit them for years to come.

Workshops like these are a vital part of preparing our students for the realities of adult life, and we’re proud to support their journey toward financial independence.
