Musical Theatre in Full Swing

Junior Musical Theatre 

This term, the Junior Musical Theatre cohort delivered a highly successful performance of Word Nerds, showcasing their dedication and enthusiasm. With that production now behind them, students have shifted their focus to preparing for the Junior Showcase next term. They are currently learning four musical numbers from a diverse range of productions, each guided by different choreographers. This provides a valuable opportunity to explore various performance styles and deepen their understanding of musical theatre.
Through ensemble work, movement, and vocalisation, students are developing essential performance skills. Additionally, they are continuing to build their narrative storytelling abilities across all disciplines, refining technique while maintaining a sense of joy and collaboration throughout the process.

Senior Musical Theatre 

As the Senior Musical Theatre students wrap up their captivating run of Chicago: The Musical in the Fraser Centre, the growth of each performer has been clearly evident. Tackling this iconic period piece offered a rich educational experience, with students delving into the history and style of jazz music, jazz dance, and vaudeville. Performing alongside a live band brought an added level of professionalism and excitement to the production.
The senior students’ commitment, energy, and passion have resulted in a series of powerful, engaging performances. Congratulations to all involved for their tireless work and artistic achievement this term.
