Meet our Principal

I warmly welcome you to The McDonald College, and I am delighted to introduce the College to you.

We are a national centre of excellence for performing arts training, elite tennis training and, of course, our core focus of academic rigour.  We are committed to developing our students to the best of their abilities in an environment where personal attributes and character are respected and inspired by our College values of:

  • Honour
  • Humility
  • Passion
  • Commitment
  • Appreciation

We are preparing students for lifelong learning and self-discovery, where they can utilise their performance skills on the stage, on the court, in the boardroom or the classroom. Their skills are transferable and highly sought after beyond the school setting.

It is no secret that growing up in the 21st century provides many challenges and distractions. All the more reason why our young people must feel they belong to a community where they are understood, encouraged, cared for and that they are proud to be a part of.

Young people who are busy and have the opportunity to explore their creativity and passion are more likely to successfully navigate the challenges before them.

The arts and sports develop leadership skills that cannot be taught in a classroom. Teamwork is fostered together with communication skills and problem-solving abilities, all of which are crucial to effective leadership. Confidence, resilience and a sense of responsibility are valuable traits for leaders in whichever field they choose. These skills give career advantages long after school.

It is never too early to consider the learning environment your child deserves. I invite you to register for a private tour of the College so you can see for yourself the caring and exciting community that is The McDonald College.

I look forward to meeting you and your child soon.
